Shelton Kiwanis Foundation

The Shelton Kiwanis Foundation offers scholarships to graduating seniors from Shelton, CHOICE and Cedar high schools; homeschooled students in Shelton; and/or the Running Start program.

Scholarships are available in education, general academics, science, nursing, and career and technical education.

Hood Canal Lions Club

The Hood Canal Lions Club has two scholarships of $1,000 each.

Application forms are available at the Hood Canal Facebook website, Peace Love Union website and the Shelton High School counseling center. Their scholarships are open to Shelton High School seniors, with preference to students who have attended Hood Canal School.

The scholarship money can be used for enrollment at any accredited college, university or vocational-technical school, in or out of state. The recipient must enroll in the institution during the school year following graduation from Shelton High School and be enrolled full time.

The scholarship money will be paid to the educational institution registrar upon proof of registration. May 8 is the deadline to submit applications to hoodcanallionsclub@gmail.com. For more information, contact Rayni or Mike at hoodcanallions@gmail.com.

Mason Health Foundation Centennial Guild

The Centennial Guild, a chapter of the Mason Health Foundation, is offering scholarships to anyone living or working in Mason County who is studying in the medical field.

Applicants can be of any age, whether just out of high school, in college, starting a career or seeking advancement in their current position. The Guild has awarded more than $55,000 in scholarships.

Pioneer Community Kiwanis

The Pioneer Community Kiwanis Club offers scholarships to students who attended Pioneer Schools or live in the Pioneer School District and will graduate or earn a GED by July 1.

The scholarships are for college, technical schools or trade schools. Applications are available in the counseling offices at all three high schools in the Shelton School District ­— Cedar, CHOICE and Shelton — and at North Mason High School. Mason County Economic Development Council

The Mason County Economic Development Council, in partnership with the Thurston County Center for Business and Innovation, is offering scholarships for the Business Enterprise Startup Training and Quickstart e-commerce programs.

The scholarships are provided through funding from the Pacific Mountain Workforce Development Council and seek to support new businesses in Mason County.

BEST consists of five online, on-demand courses that teach new entrepreneurs how to write a business plan, structure and license their business, start branding and marketing their business, protect their intellectual property, and gain basic accounting knowledge to help their business thrive.

Quickstart is an e-commerce training program in partnership with TheWMarketplace, designed for women-owned businesses with an existing online presence such as a website or on social media. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate and gain access to TheWMarketplace platform, hoping to expand their reach and enhance their business visibility.

Interested Mason County entrepreneurs are encouraged to apply for a scholarship first as funds are limited. After submitting the scholarship application, applicants will be contacted by the Center for Business and Innovation Training, who will provide access to the courses along with no-cost access to business plan writing software.
