Trustees to speak at chamber lunch

The North Mason Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon will feature chamber trustees talking about their priorities, according to a news release.

The lunch, at the HUB Center for Seniors in Belfair, 111 Northeast Old Belfair Highway in Belfair, is from 11:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. on March 26 and is $25 for members, $30 for nonmembers.

Trustees Mendy Harlow, board chair, Darren Eisele, vice chair, Rebecca Bonneville, past chair and A.J. Genarro will speak.

President and CEO Stephanie Rowland will talk about membership, what the chamber does and ask for comments from members about the chamber’s efforts in 2024 and ideas about 2025, according to a news release.

NMRFA pancake breakfast scheduled for March 29

The North Mason Regional Fire Authority will host a pancake breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. March 29 at Station 21, 490 Northeast Old Belfair Highway, Belfair.

Parking is available in the lower parking lot next to the station. All ages are welcome and breakfast is free. Donations will be accepted to support the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Community Fund.

“Through Neighbors Helping Neighbors, our EMS crews, firefighters, Resource Access Program, and Mobile Integrated Health Program can provide urgent support for local individuals and families struggling to pay for prescriptions, gas, power bills, or even emergency shelter when no other options are available,” according to NMRFA.

Attendees can meet firefighters, EMTs, medics and Sparky the fire dog and tour a fire truck.

Community members can also get free smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms.

HUB needs Easter donations and volunteers

The HUB Center for Seniors is accepting candy and small toy donations to stuff in 50,000 eggs for its Easter event, The Hoppening, on April 19.

Volunteers are also needed to fill the eggs.

To volunteer, visit the HUB Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 111 Northeast Old Belfair Highway in Belfair.

Community Response Team volunteers needed

The North Mason Regional Fire Authority is looking for Community Response Team volunteers and will host an informational meeting at Station 81, 14880 NE North Shore Road, Tahuya, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on April 17.

Volunteers are specifically needed in the Tahuya community, according to NMRFA.

“As a CRT member, you will play a vital role in assisting first responders during emergencies by providing traffic control and flagging at incident scenes supporting fire scene activities, such as rehab and logistical support, offering basic first aid, and assisting with large-scale disaster response efforts,” according to a news release.

Volunteers will attend 28 hours of initial training, including basic life saving skills, teamwork, incident command systems, emergency preparedness and disaster response, according to the release.
