Protesting cuts to public lands workers

A group of people turned out Saturday in Hoodsport to protest cuts to federally owned public lands in the United States. Thousands of employees of the U.S. Forest Service and the National Park Service have reportedly been fired or resigned in recent weeks. The Hoodsport demonstration, held at Ingvald J. Gronvold Park near the intersection of U.S. Highway 101 and state Route 119 which serves Olympic National Park's Staircase entrance station and Olympic National Forest, was part of Step Up for National Parks and Public Lands National Day of Action.
