Kitten Rescue garage sale Saturday in Shelton

The nonprofit Kitten Rescue of Mason County hosts its quarterly garage sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at 420 SE state Route 3 in Shelton.

Sale items include clothing, kitchen items, toys, tools, gardening equipment, craft supplies, books, puzzles, dishes, purses, art, sporting equipment, health and beauty items, outdoor gear and holiday decorations.

The garage sales continue July 12, Sept. 13 and Nov. 1. The nonprofit accepts credit cards, cash and checks.

The proceeds from the garage sales provide a large portion of Kitten Rescue’s operating budget. One hundred percent of the sales go to the operation of the nonprofit.

Learn about ancestors at genealogy meeting

The Mason County Genealogical Society hosts a Zoom meeting at 6 tonight on learning about building a family tree, learning about ancestors and their stories. To get the Zoom link, email masoncountygenealogy@gmail.com.

SHS Robotics at Centennial Lions Club meeting

The Shelton Centennial Lions Club hosts its monthly meeting at noon March 17 at the Mason County Senior Activities Association Center.

Everyone is welcome. The guest is the Shelton High School Robotics Club. Lunch is served at noon, with sloppy Joes on the menu. The cost is $4 for people 55 and older, $8 for everyone else. Wear green in honor of St. Patrick’s Day.

Empty Bowls fundraiser helps feed people

The Shelton Arts Commission continues its annual three-day fundraiser Empty Bowls to raise money for The Saints’ Pantry Food Bank from 5-7 p.m. March 12 and March 19 at the Shelton Civic Center, 525 W. Cota St.

Attendees can attend any or all of the events. On March 5, clay was provided to create a bowl. On March 12, participants glaze the bowls. On March 19, patrons for a $10 donation can buy a bowl and enjoy gourmet soups and bread.

All ages are welcome.

Annual seafood dinner, auction benefits kids

The Pioneer Kiwanis Club hosts its annual seafood dinner with live and silent auctions March 22 at Pioneer Elementary School.

The doors open at 4 p.m. and the dinner begins at 4:30 p.m.

The money is used to benefit the children in the Pioneer School District and Mason County and pays for scholarships. It also supports the Day of Champions program, STEM programs, local food banks, and programs that encourage reading and writing in Pioneer Schools.
