Owls light it up

The Mary M. Knight High School girls basketball team made its first appearance in the 1B state girls basketball tournament since 2016 after finishing third at the 1B District IV tournament. MMK (15-9 overall) beat Oakville 65-23 (Feb. 18 at Raymond), Wahkiakum 56-50 (Feb. 20 at Raymond) and Willapa Valley 48-37 (Feb. 22 at Montesano) to advance to the tournament. The Owls faced Muckleshoot Tribal School on Tuesday night in Auburn and lost 53-44 in the opening round to end one of the most successful seasons in school history.
