Climbers keep rolling, North Mason boys hoops goes 3-0
Shelton girls basketball
The Shelton High School girls basketball team won two games last week, beating Aberdeen 60-43 on Jan. 29 in Aberdeen and then dispatching Centralia 43-31 on Friday at Terry Gregg Court in Shelton.
The win over the Tigers clinched a 3A District 4 pigtail game berth for Shelton, which will travel to Kelso at 2 p.m. Saturday.
A win there would put the Climbers into the 3A District 3/4 tournament, which is scheduled to begin Feb. 13.
Shelton entered this week at 13-5 overall (6-2 Evergreen) and hosted W.F. West on Tuesday night and travels to Tumwater tonight to wrap up the regular season.

The Shelton High School boys basketball team went 2-0 last week, claiming a 53-43 win over Aberdeen on Jan. 27 at Terry Gregg Court in Shelton and a 48-36 road win over Centralia on Jan. 30.
Shelton traveled to W.F. West on Wednesday and hosts Tumwater on Friday for senior night.
The Climbers are 5-14 overall (3-5 Evergreen) entering this week.

The Highclimber boys lost 55-17 to W.F. West in their regular season finale Jan. 29 and will head to the 3A district tournament Saturday.

Shelton's Lyn Aronson and Alivia Holt qualified for the 3A state bowling tournament as individuals and competed Wednesday at Bowlero Lanes in Lakewood.
North Mason girls basketball
The North Mason High School girls basketball team split two games last week, defeating Kingston 63-55 on Jan. 29 in Belfair and falling 40-35 to North Kitsap on Friday in Poulsbo.
The Bulldogs' Monday nonconference game with Capital was canceled due to snow and North Mason will travel to Bainbridge on Saturday before hosting Olympic on Tuesday for senior night.
North Mason is 11-6 overall (8-4 in Olympic League action).

The Bulldog boys won three games last week to improve to 10-9 overall (6-6 Olympic League).
On Jan. 28, North Mason beat Kingston 52-48, and Friday edged North Kitsap 74-73 in Belfair.
On Saturday in a nonconference road game, North Mason torched Klahowya 77-57.
The Bulldogs host Bainbridge Saturday and then wrap up the regular season Tuesday at Olympic.

The Mary M. Knight High School girls basketball team split two games last week.
On Jan. 28 in Matlock, the Owls dispatched Lake Quinault 87-28 and then on Friday at Sound Christian Academy in Tacoma, the Owls fell 42-37.
A nonconference game against Clallam Bay on Monday was canceled due to weather and Wednesday, the Owls hosted Shelton High's junior varsity team.
MMK wraps up the regular season Friday at Taholah and then will compete in the 1B District IV tournament next week.
The Owls are 12-6 overall (5-4 in 1B Coastal League play) entering this week.
Mary M. Knight boys basketball
MMK dropped its only contest of last week by a 53-43 count to Lake Quinault on Jan. 28 in Matlock.
The Owls are 0-15 overall, 0-8 1B Coastal League.
