Cheryl Ann Janssen

Cheryl Ann Janssen (Shepard) 65, of Shelton, WA, passed, Dec 11th, 2023. Cheryl was born August 22nd, 1958 to Wallace Earl Shepard and Alice Darlene Shepard. She passed away at her home in Shelton, where she resided and was deeply loved and cared for by her devoted husband Paul Janssen.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Wallace, her brother Russell Shepard and foster-brother James Finucane. Cheryl is survived by her husband Paul Janssen of Shelton, mother Alice Shepard (Clackamas, OR), mother in law Phyllis Canaday (Shelton, WA), sister Julie Cannon (Lacey, WA), sister Mari Patterson (Wayne) (Yuma, AZ) as well as her daughters Lynae and Lilly (Michael), niece Jennifer, and nephews Daniel and Richard, her grandson Drayden, as well as aunts Susan and JoAnne and many cousins located in Washington and Oregon.

Cheryl grew up in Portland, Oregon where she attended Milwaukee High School and graduated in 1976. She attended Mt. Hood College where she received her degree in graphic arts. In the mid-nineties, Cheryl relocated to Hoodsport, WA and was employed and held many positions at the Wal-Mart in Shelton, WA for 26 years when she retired in August 2023.

Cheryl met her Husband Paul Janssen in 2006 in Shelton, WA. Together they married January 11th, 2007 and raised daughters Lynae and Lilly in their family home in Shelton. She lived life to the fullest with her music, arts, going to plays and musicals at 5th Avenue theatre in Seattle, "Walk-a-bouts" with her husband Paul in their beautiful backyard and garden, Coffee in the morning and ice-cream in the evening, time enjoying outside, traveling, playing slots and bingo at the casinos, and her weekends with her grandson. She loved to sit and watch the hummingbirds drink from the feeders she set out. She cared deeply for others and brought laughter, joy, wisdom and love to those in her life. Her passing has left a hole in our hearts that we will fill with her loving memory. We were all so fortunate to share special times with her. We love you Cheryl.

A celebration of Cheryl's life will be held June 8th, 2024, 1:00 p.m. at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Shelton, WA.
