Shelton boys basketball

Shelton earned its first win of the season 58-40 against Black Hills on Dec. 13 in an Evergreen Conference game at the Terry Gregg Court in Shelton.

The Highclimbers lost 74-47 in a nonleague game against Mount Tahoma on Dec. 15 in Tacoma.

Shelton (1-5, 1-1) hosts Olympic at 7 tonight in a nonleague game at the Mini-Dome.

The Highclimbers lost 62-34 against Black Hills on Dec. 12 in Tumwater and lost 47-36 to River Ridge on Monday in a nonleague game at Terry Gregg Court.

Shelton (0-7, 0-3) is off until 2024, hosting Centralia on Jan. 3 in an Evergreen Conference game at Terry Gregg Court.

Shelton girls bowling

Shelton defeated Rochester 1,607-1,510 in an Evergreen Conference girls bowling match Dec. 12 at Westside Lanes in Olympia.

The Highclimbers set a team high for total score and team high game at 738. Lilah Wentworth recorded a high game with a 149 and had a game average of 118, and Alivia Holte also recorded a season high game with a 185 and had a game average of 145.5.

Kaelynn Robbins recorded the high average with a 148. Josefina Francisco-Zacarias recorded a 128 average and Marsybel Hernandez-Zacarias had a 113.5 average.

Shelton is off until 2024, facing Aberdeen in a league match at Westside Lanes in Olympia.

Shelton boys swimming

Shelton narrowly defeated Timberline 92-89 in a nonleague boys swim meet on Dec. 12 at the Shelton High School pool.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Jayden Lovingfoss, Juda Holzgrove, Tawan Benedict and Coy Carter won with a time of 1 minute, 53.73 seconds.

The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Benedict, Darren Arthur, Lovingfoss and Holzgrove won in 3:51.20.

Benedict qualified for state in the 200-yard individual medley, winning the race in 2:07.21, and he won the 100-yard butterfly in 54.93 seconds.

Arthur won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:21.33 for the Highclimbers. Lovingfoss won the 50-yard freestyle in 24.63 seconds and the 100-yard backstroke in 1:04.12.

Holzgrove won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:09.34 and the 100-yard freestyle in 54.16 seconds. Carter won the 500-yard freestyle in 7:56.84.

Shelton competes at 3 p.m. today, traveling to Port Angeles High School for a nonleague meet with the Roughriders.

North Mason girls basketball

North Mason lost 60-33 to Bremerton on Dec. 14 in Bremerton and lost 69-21 to Port Angeles on Dec. 12 in an Olympic League game in Belfair.

The Bulldogs (2-3, 0-3) had its game against La Conner on Dec. 16 in Belfair canceled, and don’t play again until Jan. 2, hosting Sequim in Belfair for a league game.

North Mason boys basketball

The Bulldogs lost 85-48 against Bremerton on Dec. 14 in Belfair and lost 92-57 against Port Angeles on Dec. 12 in an Olympic League game in Port Angeles.

North Mason (2-3, 1-2) hosts Evergreen (Seattle) tonight at 7 p.m. in Belfair.

North Mason won 6-1 against Sequim on Dec. 12 at Hi-Joy Bowl in Port Orchard, but lost 6-1 to Port Angeles on Dec. 14 at Laurel Lanes in Port Angeles.

The Bulldogs lost 7-0 to Orting on Monday in a nonleague match at Hi-Joy Bowl in Port Orchard.

North Mason is off until Jan. 4, taking on Bremerton in an Olympic League match at Hi-Joy Bowl in Port Orchard.

Mary M. Knight girls basketball

Mary M. Knight earned a 35-25 win against Shelton’s JV on Dec. 15 in Matlock.

The Owls lost 56-22 to Willapa Valley on Dec. 16 in Matlock and lost 52-33 to Pe Ell’s JV on Monday in Matlock.

MMK (3-4) traveled to Quilcene on Wednesday for a nonleague game. The Owls play at 4 p.m. today against Chief Leschi in Puyallup.

Mary M. Knight boys basketball

Mary M. Knight lost 52-22 to Willapa Valley on Dec. 16 in Matlock and lost 43-37 against Pe Ell’s JV on Monday in Matlock.

MMK (1-4) traveled to Quilcene on Wednesday for a nonleague game for the final game of 2023.
