Roger D. Berens

Roger D. Berens, beloved husband, dad, grandpa, brother and friend, passed away April 23, 2023, at St. Michael's Medical Center in Silverdale, WA.

He was born October 30, 1950, in Arkansas City, KS to Theodore and Alma (Price) Berens. He attended school through 6th grade in Arkansas City when the family moved to California. They then moved to Oregon and back to Campbell, California, where Roger graduated from Campbell High School in 1968. He attended college in Campbell before moving to Springfield, OR. It was in Springfield that he met the person who would be his wife of 41 years, Lisabeth (Weller) Berens. They were married on April 2, 1982. In 1987 they moved to Belfair, WA to help take care of her dad, and in 1991 moved to Grapeview where they have resided for 31 years.

Roger loved to travel, taking trips to the ocean for a few days and road trips with no itinerary for two to three weeks at a time, visiting National Parks, National Monuments, Lighthouses, Ghost Towns and stopping at every historical (hysterical) marker throughout the Western United States. Roger loved to dote on his grandchildren, they were the loves of his life.

Roger is survived by his loving wife, Lisabeth; his two sons, Jared Rachman (Kathline) of Crooked River Ranch, OR, and Michael Berens (Nicole) of Douglassville, PA; his brother, Rex Berens (Julie) of Rifle, CO; and grandchildren, Madalynn, Jynx, and Cason.

A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
