North Mason falls to Kingston in track opener

The North Mason boys and girls lost their opening meet of the track season against Kingston on Wednesday in Belfair.

The Kingston girls defeated the Bulldogs 64-40. North Mason's Natalya Garcia won the 100-meter dash in 14.16 seconds. Cali DuPont won the 400-meter race in 1:10.91. Kezlie Thygesen won the 1,600-meter race in 5:31.81.

Kisslyn Kama-Tandal won the shot put with a throw of 19 feet, 6 inches, and Adrianna Tupolo won the discus with a toss of 95 feet, 5 inches and the javelin with a throw of 77 feet.

The Kingston boys narrowly defeated North Mason 65-59. Alexander Rank won the 100-meter dash in 11.76 seconds. The 4x100 relay team of Trent Petersen, Blake Evans, Avery Ballein and Rank won with a time of 47.82 seconds. Carter Schreier won the shot put with a throw of 31 feet, 4 inches and Woody Tupolo won the discus with a toss of 73 feet, 6 inches. Rank won the high jump with a height of 5 feet, 8 inches and won the long jump with a distance of 17 feet, 11 inches.

North Mason is back in action Friday, traveling to Lynden for the Bedlington Twilight.
