Shelton boys wrestling

Shelton finished second in the Ramrock Invitational on Dec. 3 at North Thurston High School in Olympia.

It was the highest finish ever for the Highclimbers at the invitational. Senior Daniel Tausa at 285 pounds and juniors Tyler Fleshman at 132 pounds and Phenix Oleachea 160 pounds each won their weight classes. Logan Peach placed second at 145 pounds and Drew Schirman finished third at 138 pounds. Mario Boxley at 220 pounds and Dante Coker at 106 pounds finished fourth.

Shelton travels to W.F. West today for its opening Evergreen Conference match of the season. The Highclimbers travel to Olympic High School in Bremerton on Saturday to compete in the Olympic Duels tournament.

Shelton girls wrestling

Shelton's Elibeth Cervantes won the tournament at 155 pounds and Angela Anderson finished fourth at 190 pounds at the Jump On In wrestling tournament Dec. 3 in Yelm.

Cervantes pinned all of her opponents, including in the finals. She beat Bellingham's Frances Porteous in 55 seconds to earn the win.

Anderson fell in the third-place match to Tenino's Trinity Tafoya by pin.

The Shelton girls travel to Auburn on Saturday for a tournament.

Shelton boys basketball

The Highclimber boys basketball team fell in its opening game of the season 93-37 against North Thurston in a nonleague game Dec. 2 in Olympia.

Shelton (0-1, 0-1) hosted Tumwater in the home opener on Tuesday and hosts W.F. West today in Evergreen Conference games.

Shelton bowling

Shelton fell to the defending state champions W.F. West 1,902 to 1,286 in an Evergreen Conference girls bowling match Nov. 29 at Westside Lanes in Olympia.

The top three bowlers for Shelton were Kylee Moore, Alivia Holte and Josefina Francisco-Zacarias. Holte had her high game of the season with a 142, Lilah Wentworth bowled a high game of 121 and Kaylin Lankelis had her high game of 96.

Four bowlers were above their average for both games, including Moore, Wentworth, Lankelis and Holte.

Shelton traveled to Centralia to take on the Tigers on Tuesday and hosts Tumwater today at Westside Lanes in an Evergreen Conference match.

North Mason boys basketball

The Bulldogs dropped its opening game of the season to East Jefferson 66-53 on Monday in Chimacum.

North Mason (0-1, 0-1) traveled to Kingston on Tuesday for its first Olympic League game of the season. The Bulldogs will host Port Angeles tonight in a league game.

North Mason girls basketball

North Mason earned a 48-22 win in its opening game of the season at home Monday against East Jefferson.

Adrienne Tupolo led North Mason with 20 points and Adrianna Tupolo recorded 11 rebounds.

The Bulldogs (1-0, 1-0) hosted Kingston on Tuesday in its first league game of the season and travels to Port Angeles today in a league game.

North Mason bowling

North Mason earned a 7-0 win against Sequim on Dec. 1 in an Olympic League girls bowling match at Laurel Lanes in Port Angeles.

The Bulldogs (3-2, 3-0) traveled to Olympic in an Olympic League match on Tuesday and hosted Bremerton on Wednesday. North Mason travels to Port Angeles today for a league match.
