Christine Kay Fox

Christine Kay Fox (nee Barwick), beloved mother of three, faithful friend, and avid lover of books, rocks, and all things gardening, passed away peacefully in Shelton, WA on April 28, 2022, at the age of 71.

Born January 13, 1951, in Olympia, WA, Chris attended St. Michael Catholic School and St. Mary's Academy. She attended college at The Evergreen State College and spent her adult years working in various roles in the Shelton area. Chris was a well known figure in local volleyball leagues for many years and shared her passion for the sport with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her three children, Nancy Thornock (Paul) of Savannah, GA, Martin Fox of Pittsburg, CA, and Teresa Drouyor (Jeremy) of Shelton; her nine grandchildren James, Olivia, Jacob, Aaron, Desiree, Spencer, Brandt, Sydney, and Kielie; her sister Patricia Weaver (Rick) and her brother Paul Barwick.

Christine will be missed for her great capacity for caring and kindness towards friends and strangers alike and her wonderful sense of humor. Christine suffered for several years from Alzheimer's disease and encroaching blindness. Though her sight was diminishing, she continued to enjoy large print and audio books for as long as she was able. Gifts may be made in memory of the deceased to the Washington Talking Book and Braille Library (wtbbl.org).

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date and will be published in the Shelton-Mason County Journal.
