Paul Arthur Wheaton

Paul Arthur Wheaton, 86, passed away on March 3, 2025, in Olympia, Washington. Born on October 6, 1938, in Cashmere, Washington, Paul lived a full and adventurous life rooted in hard work, family, and a deep love for the outdoors.

Paul's career reflected his strong work ethic. He spent many years working at Simpson before taking a bold step to purchase a general store and cabins in Coconully, Washington. Later in life, he joined Olympia Fuel and Asphalt, where he worked until his retirement. Through each chapter of his professional life, Paul brought dedication and resilience that left a lasting impression on those around him. Beyond his work, Paul was known for his passion for flat track motorcycle racing during his younger years. His love for the open road continued throughout his life as he enjoyed countless rides on his Gold Wing motorcycle-often with his beloved wife Pat by his side. Together they shared many adventures. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping. Family was central to Paul's life.

He is remembered with love by his sons Ken Wheaton and Bruce Wheaton; stepchildren Christy Dickson, Jeff Bell, and his wife, Sarah, Jason Bell, and Kim Auseth, and her husband Sebert; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who affectionately called him "Papa." His playful spirit shone brightest when he was with them-always ready to join in their fun or lend a helping hand. He also leaves behind cousins who were part of the extended family circle that meant so much to him. Paul was preceded in death by his cherished wife Pat Wheaton; his mother Esther Gray; father Rexford Wheaton; and brother Gaylon Wheaton and sisters Maryann and Kay.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the 40 et 8 located at 113 W. Cota St., Shelton, Washington 98584. This gathering will be an opportunity to share stories and laughter in honor of Paul's memory. Guests are encouraged to wear whatever makes them comfortable-Paul never liked dressing up.

May Paul's memory bring comfort to all who knew him and joy in remembering a life well-lived.
