Lester Marshall Johnson

Lester Marshall Johnson, born May 3, 1948, in Breckenridge, MN to Armand (deceased) Cora (Heideman) Johnson (deceased). Les passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024 with Sandy by his side.

Lester was raised on his family farm in Doran, MN with his siblings, Karen, Dennis, Janelle, Dale and Daniel. He attended school in Breckenridge, MN. He was awarded a basketball scholarship to State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND.

Les moved to Shelton, WA in 1969, where he trained in carpentry and started Johnson Construction in the early 80’s, employing family and friends.

Lester married Sandy Covey on September 3, 1978. Their union raised two daughters, Debi Johnson and Trisha Browning, which blessed them with grandchildren Zachary, Marcus (Shyanna), Devin and Alexis, as well as four great-grandchildren, Emily, Kodi, Tristan and Noah. The couple moved to the Limerick Golf Community in the 90’s where they built lasting friendships, family and a lot of homes. Lester was a very enthusiastic Washington sports fan. He was an avid hunter with either bow or rifle. Les liked nothing better than a fall hunt with Niels at Naselle for elk, as well as local deer hunting. Highlights of conversations were their travels with the Lunds to interesting places. He would crack a smile when talking about the Limerick scrambles with the guys.

“May his memory be a blessing!”

Condolence cards can be mailed to: Sandy Johnson, Debi Johnson and Trisha Browning at 190 East Shamrock Drive, Shelton, WA 98584.
