Alice "Corrinne" Clary

1925-2024

Alice "Corrinne" Clary born June 13, 1925 in Forest Lake, Minnesota, to Theodore Manning Corey and Geraldine Catherine (Hawkins) Corey, passed away on May 27, 2024, in Shelton, WA. Corrinne was the third child born to a family of nine children. When she was very young, the family moved to Montana and then eventually Washington.

During WWII, she worked at the shipyard in Bremerton, WA where she met, and eventually married, Russell F. Clary, Jr. on February 22, 1946. The couple was then stationed in California while Russell served in the U.S. Army. While there, Corrinne gave birth to their son Donald R. Clary. Soon after, they moved back to Washington where both of their families resided. At some point, they purchased what would eventually, and affectionately, become known as "The Farm" in Kamilche. Over the years, they raised cattle, operated a logging company and ultimately bred, raised and raced thoroughbred horses.

Corrinne's greatest accomplishment was making any and all feel welcome and loved. At any given time there were always kids of family and friends at the farm. She made her home a place that was enjoyed by so many and where so many wonderful memories were made.

Corrinne was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Russell, her siblings Jack Corey, Richard Corey, Donald Corey, Ted Corey, Larry Corey and Betty Renecker Nelson. She is survived by her son Don, her grandson Todd Clary (Chris) of Ithica, NY, her great-grandsons Caleb and Jackson Clary of Ithica, NY, her sister Sharon (Floyd) Vaughan of Shelton, WA, her brother Gerald Corey of Winlock, WA and a wealth of nieces and nephews who loved her greatly.

A celebration of Corrinne's life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church on Connection Street, in Shelton, WA. A reception will follow.
