Marie Kathryn Cormier

Marie Kathryn Cormier, 99 years young, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2024, at Alpine Way Assisted Living Facility. She was born on December 22, 1924, in Centralia, Washington, to Albert Otto and Alma (Teitzel) Schuffenhauer. She was a proud resident of Shelton and was a 1942 graduate of Irene S. Reed High School.

Marie was the second of six siblings. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers, Louis, Verne and Lee. She is survived by her best friend and youngest sister, Arlene Davidson, her children, Clifford (Jo) Cowling, Carol (David) Lund, Tessie (Jeff) Thompson, Donna (Scott) Johnson. She was married to Warren Cowling until his death, and also to James E. Cormier until his death in February of 1987.

She is survived by six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four-great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Her greatest passions were first and foremost family, cooking, knitting, gardening, and watching Mariners games. She was a member of the hospital auxiliary.
