Concert series features Vox Fortura

The British classical crossover group Vox Fortura performs at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Shelton High School Performing Arts Center.

The trio's eclectic set can include everything from Elgar and Bizet's "Pearl Fishers" to David Bowie, John Legend and Ed Sheeran. The group was a semifinalist on the TV show "Britain's Got Talent."

The Mason County Community Concerts Association presents the show as part of its annual program. Single-concert tickets are $30 for adults, with children under age 18 admitted free. For more information, go to http://www.masoncountyconcerts.org.

Vox Fortura was founded in the United Kingdom in 2016. The group has toured the world for a decade. This is the group's second tour of the United States and the final three shows are in Washington. Vox Fortura performs Feb. 23 at the Columbia Theatre for the Performing Arts in Longview, and Feb. 25 at the Everett Civic Auditorium.

The Mason County Community Concerts Association has hosted shows in Shelton since 1949. It is part of a national association established in 1926 to bring high-quality music and entertainment to small towns. Season ticket holders in Mason County can also enjoy concerts presented in neighboring communities through reciprocity agreements.

Steven Delopoulos and Johnny Phillips from the band Burlap to Cashmere performs The Sounds of Silence Tribute at 7 p.m. March 24. The duo sings the songs of Simon and Garfunkel and other singer/songwriters of that era, including Bob Dylan, John Denver, Harry Chapin, Cat Stevens and Don McLean.

The series concludes with Irish singer David Shannon at 7 p.m. April 25. He has been performing for more than 25 years.
