We deeply regret to announce that Erlene Jessie Davenport Kirschner passed away quietly on April 13, 2023. She was 105.
Erlene was born in Seattle, Washington, graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1937 and had a successful career as a bookkeeper from 1937 to 1943. Erlene was a very active outdoor enthusiast. She enjoyed climbing and skiing along with trips to Hood Canal. After her marriage to Charles Kirschner in 1943, they lived in Little Rock, Washington, DC, Bakersfield, San Francisco, Seattle, Anchorage, Walnut Creek and Jakarta, They retired to Hood Canal near Union, Washington in 1986.
Erlene always made everyone comfortable, in her home. Wherever she was, she was open to family, neighbors, friends and friends of friends. We all have very fond memories of her gracious hospitality, delicious dinners, and famous brownies. Erlene was an active member of the New Community Church of Union, and hosted many events for the Mason County PEO (Philanthropic Educational Organization).
Erlene is survived by her four children, Steven Kirschner (wife Susan), Annabel Kirschner, Kathryn Kirschner (husband Rick Walker) and Scott Kirschner; her grandchildren Trent and Tad Kirschner, and Andrew and Eryn Cook; and her great-grandchildren Quinn and Ty Kirschner.
Erlene will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
