Shelton boys basketball

The Highclimbers earned a 59-37 win against the Warriors on Jan. 10 in Rochester to extend their win streak to six games.

Shelton (7-5, 4-1) was scheduled to host Tumwater at Terry Gregg Court on Jan. 12, but the game was postponed due to weather. The Highclimbers travel to Tumwater at

7 tonight to take on Black Hills in an Evergreen Conference game. Shelton travels to Tumwater at 7 p.m. on Monday to take on the Thunderbirds.

Shelton girls basketball

Shelton lost 53-42 against Rochester on Jan. 9 at Terry Gregg Court and lost 24-15 to Tumwater on Jan. 11 at Tumwater High School.

The Highclimbers (2-10, 1-6) traveled to Chehalis to play against the Bearcats on Wednesday. Shelton hosts Black Hills at 7 p.m. on Friday at the Mini-Dome in an Evergreen Conference game and the Highclimbers play against North Thurston at 5 p.m. on Saturday in Lacey.

Shelton girls bowling

Shelton wrapped up the regular season with a 2,034 to 1,770 loss to W.F. West on Jan. 11 in an Evergreen Conference match at Westside Lanes in Olympia.

The Highclimbers recorded 1,700 team pins for the first time all season, 163 pins higher than its previous team total.

The varsity team recorded a team high game of 791, just the second 700 game all season and 58 pins higher than the previous high.

First-year student Caitlin Foreman bowled a 212, the first 200 game of the season for the Highclimbers, and had an average of 152. Alivia Holte bowled a 196 with no open frames, averaging 177. Kaelynn Robbins bowled a 173 with an average of 157.5. Marsybel Hernandez-Zacarias had a 140 average and Ruby Hernandez bowled a 121 average.

Shelton earned a 1,539 to 1,316 win against Black Hills on Jan. 9 in a conference match at Westside Lanes.

Hernandez-Zacarias led the Highclimbers with a 152.5 average and Foreman had a 136 average. Andrea Fogo averaged 125, Alivia Holte had a 120.5 average and Robbins averaged 118.5.

Shelton will compete in the District IV 2A girls bowling tournament Jan. 26 at Triangle Bowl in Longview. Holte, Robbins, Josefina Francisco-Zacarias, Hernandez-Zacarias, Foreman, Lilah Wentworth and Abbie Hirzel will represent the Highclimbers at districts.

Shelton boys swimming

The Shelton boys swim team lost 103-76 to North Thurston on Jan. 9 in a nonleague match at Shelton High School.

Shelton was scheduled to swim at the Kingston Swimvitational on Jan. 13 in Kingston. The Highclimbers swam against Timberline on Tuesday in Lacey. Shelton is scheduled to swim next Jan. 24 against the Bobcats at the Grays Harbor YMCA in Aberdeen.

North Mason boys basketball

The Bulldogs earned an 82-72 win against La Conner on Jan. 12 in La Conner.

North Mason lost 71-63 against Bainbridge on Jan. 9 in Belfair and lost 88-43 against North Kitsap on Jan. 11 in Poulsbo in an Olympic League game.

The Bulldogs (5-7, 2-5) traveled to Kingston on Tuesday for a league game. North Mason hosts Port Angeles at 7 tonight in Belfair in a league game.

North Mason girls basketball

North Mason has won three in a row, starting with a 58-47 win against Bainbridge on Jan. 9 in Bainbridge in an Olympic League game.

The Bulldogs won 41-37 against North Kitsap on Jan. 11 in Belfair and won 64-47 against La Conner on Jan. 12 in La Conner in a nonleague game.

North Mason (5-5, 2-5) hosted Kingston on Tuesday in Belfair. The Bulldogs travel to Port Angeles at 7 tonight to take on the Roughriders in a league game.

North Mason girls bowling

North Mason lost 6-1 against Klahowya on Jan. 11 at an Olympic League girls bowling match at All Star Lanes in Silverdale.

The Bulldogs bowled against Olympic on Tuesday at Hi-Joy Bowl in Port Orchard on senior night. North Mason will compete in the District III bowling tournament today at noon at All Star Lanes in Silverdale.

Mary M. Knight boys basketball

Mary M. Knight lost 66-21 against Taholah on Jan. 12 in a 1B Coastal League game in Matlock.

The Owls (2-7, 0-2) had two games postponed last week against Lake Quinault and Clallam Bay. MMK played Wishkah Valley on Tuesday in Matlock and Darrington on Wednesday in Darrington.

The Owls host Clallam Bay at 5 p.m. Saturday in a nonleague game and travel to Lake Quinault at 5:30 p.m. Monday in Amanda Park in a league game.

Mary M. Knight girls basketball

Mary M. Knight lost 63-43 on Jan. 12 against Taholah in a 1B Coastal League game in Matlock.

The Owls (5-6, 1-1) had scheduled games against Lake Quinault and Clallam Bay postponed due to weather. MMK hosted Wishkah Valley on Tuesday and traveled to Darrington on Wednesday for a nonleague game.

Mary M. Knight hosts Clallam Bay at 3:30 p.m. Saturday for a nonleague game and is on the road to play Lake Quinault at 7 p.m. Monday in a league game.
