Richard "Rick" A. Hinman

Richard “Rick” A. Hinman, 69, of McCleary, Washington, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 31, 2023.

Rick was born on July 27, 1954, to Don and DeLoris Hinman in Elma, Washington. After graduating from Elma High School in 1972, he attended Centralia Community College. Once he finished college in 1974, Rick served in the U.S. Army as a food service specialist for 4 years. After his discharge from the military, Rick went to work for Simpson Timber Company from 1981-2009, when he retired.

In his younger days, Rick enjoyed playing basketball, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. In his retirement days, he really enjoyed keeping his yard looking nice. He loved to win money at the casinos, and visiting his friends. He always had stories to share.

Rick is preceded in death by his father, Don; his mother, DeLoris; and brother, Randy.

Rick is survived by his sister, Robin (Jim) Oakes; his loving nieces and nephews: Michelle Wittenberg (BJ, Jett, Renzee); and Brett Wittenberg (Keonica, Rileigh, Hazey).

Rick had a big heart and infectious smile. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 2:00 PM located at the McCleary Cemetery. Following the service, all are welcome to join the family at the McCleary Museum for a reception. Arrangements have been entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington.
