Dedicated to the citizens of Mason County, Washington since 1886
Joane Hart, a long time resident of Shelton, passed away peacefully at her long-term care home in Molalla, OR on Friday, November 24th, 2023. She entered His Gates with Thanksgiving in her heart, joyous to be reunited with her true loves.
Joane was born Joane Erna Gohrick, in Powers Lake, ND, to Bernard and Ellen (Hanson) on May 27th, 1932. At age two she moved to Glasgow, MT with her parents and brother Kenneth. Nolly was born in Glasgow, MT in 1940. From there the young family moved to Bremerton, Washington and the Pacific Northwest, where Shelton was home until 2016, when she and Gerry moved to Oregon City.
It was Shelton where she met her true love, Gerald Edward Hart (Martin and Dorothy (Haysson), who she married at Burien, WA on September 9th, 1961. Joane attended college at Augsburg University in Minneapolis in the field of nursing. The experience led her to accept a job as a lab technician at Rayonier ITT Labs. She loved this work, but gave it up after many years to be a stay at home mom. She enjoyed a great life with trips, friends and family, including helping Gerry run Harts Haven Resort in Winthrop, WA
Faith Lutheran Church became her beloved Church home, family and place of worship. This is what she missed most of all after moving to Oregon.
She and Jerry were active at FLC for 40 years.
Joane is survived by her sister Elnora (Nolly) Lamberts, two sons, Jon of Memphis and Michael of Oregon City, by daughter-in-law's Amy and Kelley, and three granddaughters, Megan Lorenzini, Kayley-Abel-Hart and Amanda Ratcliff. Joane was blessed with ten great-grandchildren!
She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Auntie "Jo" had nieces, nephews, well before having her own children and they have held a very special place in her heart. She told many cute stories of Pam, Ken B, Cheri, Mark, Cindy Diane and Marty.
A memorial service and celebration of Joane's life is planned for spring of '24 at Faith Lutheran Church in Shelton, WA. Internment at Oregon City.
