Shelton swimming finishes sixth at state

Students and fellow teammates cheer on a Shelton High School swimmer during the District IV Championships on Nov. 4 at Shelton High School. The Highclimbers finished sixth at the 2A state meet, held Friday and Saturday at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.

The Shelton swim team had the highest team finish in school history, placing sixth at the state 2A girls swim meet Friday and Saturday at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.

The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Lelia Ollenburg, Kaylin Mutoli, Madeline Allred and Abbi Sachs finished second in 3 minutes, 52.13 seconds. The same relay team finished third in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:44.70.

In individual events, Mutoli placed fourth in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:02.21 and sixth in the 100-yard freestyle in 55.58 seconds.
