Shelton swimming finishes sixth at state

The Shelton swim team had the highest team finish in school history, placing sixth at the state 2A girls swim meet Friday and Saturday at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.

The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Lelia Ollenburg, Kaylin Mutoli, Madeline Allred and Abbi Sachs finished second in 3 minutes, 52.13 seconds. The same relay team finished third in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:44.70.

In individual events, Mutoli placed fourth in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:02.21 and sixth in the 100-yard freestyle in 55.58 seconds.

Ollenburg placed fifth in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:02.10 and eighth in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:25.57.

Allred finished sixth in the 50-yard freestyle in 25.04 seconds and 16th in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:00.96.

Sachs earned 16th place in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:10.49.
