Robert "Bob" Evan Helm

Robert "Bob" Evan Helm was born in Seattle on June 4, 1937, to Forest T. Helm and Leola V. Helm. He passed to his Lord on September 5, 2023.

Bob graduated from Franklin High School and attended the University of Washington. In 1959, Bob married Elizabeth Richardson (Betty). They celebrated 64 anniversaries

before his death. Bob was employed at Seattle City Light for 10 years in underground engineering. The family moved to Kirkland in 1966 and soon after Bob made a career change to home construction and land development. Bob was employed with the Chaussee Company in Redmond, then with the Chaffey Corporation in Kitsap County for 21 years.

Bob served as President of Kitsap Homebuilders and received the Lifetime Achievement Award. The family lived in Port Orchard until Bob and Betty moved to Harstine Island in 1990. In retirement, Bob enjoyed participating and volunteering in community groups. Among those were Pioneer Kiwanis, Harstine Island Theatre Club, and the Harstine

Island Community Choir.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Richard K. Helm. He is survived by his wife, Betty and his children Deborah K. Emans (Eric), B. Rob Helm (Anne) and Matthew R. Helm (Brenda). Bob leaves behind five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held at the Harstine Island Community Club (H.I.C.C.) on October 28, 2023 from 12 Noon – 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to:
