Beverly Jean (Miklethun) Kokett

Born July 6, 1931, on a small farm in Blair, Wisconsin to Jennings and Mabel Miklethun. She passed away October 12, 2023, she was 92. For the first 10 years of her life, they all lived together with her grandparents Anton and Bertha Miklethun. Brother Dean was born in 1935. They moved to Harmony, Minnesota in 1941. Brother Darrell was born in 1943. She graduated High School in 1949. After graduation she moved to Winona, Minnesota where she met her soon to be husband Frank. In 1950, her entire family moved to Shelton Washington. She worked at JC Penney for two years. Frank was in the U.S. Air Force and was sent to Guam for 18 months. Frank and Bev were married in 1952.

Frank's assignments in the U.S. Air Force after Guam were Albany AFB in Albany, New York and then Shepherd AFB in Wichita Falls, Texas where their first daughter Diana Lynn was born in 1953. Frank left the Air Force and the three of them moved back to Shelton. Bev went back to work at JC Penney's for 14 more years. During her time at JC Penney's, their second daughter, Jeanne Renee' was born in 1959. She hired on with Simpson Credit Union and retired from there after 25 years. She then went on to work doing bookkeeping part-time at Faith Lutheran Church, St. Edwards Catholic Church and Quality Precision Products. She finally quit working at age 87.

Bev was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, FLC Women, VFW Auxilary #1694 and the 40 et 8 La Femmes of Shelton, Washington.

She was kind, loved her family and friends, loved to dance, play cards, shop and since she didn't like the kitchen, loved to eat in restaurants. Bev was always up for going anywhere anyone was going, idle, and was not a word in her vocabulary. If you needed it, and she had it, it was yours.
