North Mason High School retired the jersey of former Bulldog football star John Fullington during halftime of the Belfair school's Friday game against rival Bremerton at Phil Pugh Stadium. Fullington was a four-year letter winner for North Mason playing tight end, and he also played on the defensive line. Fullington also competed for the Bulldogs' basketball and track and field teams. Following his graduation from North Mason, Fullington played football at Washington State University, where he started 43 consecutive games. After his time in Pullman, Fullington spent time on the rosters of the Green Bay Packers, San Francisco 49ers, Arizona Cardinals and the New Orleans Saints.
