Shelton cross country

Shelton sophomore Madison Lohmeyer finished 53rd at the John Payne SC Invitational at Chambers Bay in University Place.

Lohmeyer finished the race in 22 minutes, 27 seconds.

In the boys race, Shelton senior Carson Bursch placed 12th in 17:05.

Shelton hosted Aberdeen, Black Hills and Centralia on Wednesday at the Huff’n’Puff trail across the street from the high school. The Highclimbers compete Saturday at the Fall Classic Invitational at the Pacific Lutheran University Meadows Disc Golf Course in Tacoma.

Shelton lost to Montesano 55-0 in a nonleague football game Sept. 29 in Montesano.

The Highclimbers (1-4, 0-2) host Centralia on Friday in an Evergreen Conference game.

Shelton girls soccer

The Shelton girls soccer team earned its second win of the season 3-2 against Rochester in an Evergreen Conference game Sept. 26 at Highclimber Stadium.

The Highclimbers fell to Aberdeen 3-1 in a conference game Thursday in Shelton.

Shelton (2-5-1, 1-4) traveled to Tumwater on Tuesday to face Black Hills in a conference game. The Highclimbers host W.F. West at 7 p.m. today in a league game at Highclimber Stadium.

Shelton girls swimming

Shelton seniors Kaylin Mutoli and Lelia Ollenburg each qualified for the state meet after the Swimvitational meet Saturday at Kingston High School.

Mutoli finished second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2 minutes, 3.81 seconds, and won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 55.89 seconds to earn a spot at the state meet in November.

Ollenburg placed second in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.94 to qualify for the state meet. She also finished third in the 200-yard individual medley in 1:06.51.

Senior Abbi Sachs finished seventh in the 100-yard backstroke.

Shelton placed sixth as a team with 108 points. Gig Harbor won the team title with 250 points.

The Highclimbers hosted Black Hills on Tuesday in an Evergreen Conference meet. Shelton hosts Centralia, Rochester and W.F. West on Oct. 10 at the Shelton High School pool.

Shelton boys tennis

The Shelton boys tennis team won 4-2 against Aberdeen on Sept. 29 in an Evergreen Conference match in Aberdeen.

The Highclimbers lost 5-1 against the Thunderbirds on Sept. 28 in Tumwater.

Shelton traveled to Chehalis on Tuesday to face W.F. West in a conference match.

The Highclimbers host Black Hills at 3:30 p.m. today.

Shelton volleyball

Shelton volleyball defeated Rochester 3-2 in an Evergreen Conference match on Sept. 26 in Rochester.

The Highclimbers traveled to Aberdeen on Sept. 28 and lost to the Bobcats 3-0.

Shelton (2-4, 2-3) hosted Black Hills on Tuesday in a league match. The Highclimbers travel to Chehalis today for a match at 7 p.m. against the Bearcats.

North Mason cross country

North Mason junior Jackson Bergdahl finished sixth at an Olympic League meet Sept. 27 in Bremerton.

Bergdahl finished the race in 18 minutes, 24 seconds. Sophomore Anders Oldright placed 32nd in 21:18. Senior Ben Ford finished 40th, senior Austin Kudera placed 43rd and freshman Matt Ford placed 44th. Junior Jaiden Greer and sophomore Armyoh Marsh placed 47th and 48th.

In the girls race, senior Paige Kelly led the Bulldogs in 26th place in 27:11. First-year student Charlotte Kudera placed 33rth, junior Alexis Antonowicz finished 35th and freshman Hannah Alonzo Miguel finished 42nd. Junior Hailie Hembury placed 52nd and freshman Audrey Petersen placed 54th.

Kelly finished 76th at the Nike Twilight Invitational at Cedarcrest Golf Course in Marysville. Bergdahl finished 85th in the boys race.

North Mason (1-4, 1-2) competed in an Olympic League match Wednesday at Battle Point Park in Bainbridge.

North Mason fell to Bremerton 63-0 in an Olympic League football game on Sept. 29 in Belfair.

The Bulldogs host Bainbridge at 7 p.m. Friday in Belfair in a league game.

North Mason girls soccer earned a 3-1 win against Olympic on Sept. 26 in Bremerton.

The Bulldogs fell to Kingston 3-0 on Sept. 28 in Belfair.

North Mason (2-6, 1-6) traveled to Poulsbo on Tuesday to play North Kitsap and plays in Sequim at 6:45 p.m. today in a league game.

Mary M. Knight football

Mary M. Knight football lost 20-19 against the Washington School For The Deaf on Sept. 28 in a 1B six-man football league game in Matlock.

The Owls (0-4, 0-3) hosted Quilcene on Wednesday in a nonleague game in Matlock.
