Josephine Evelyn (Justus) Workman

Josephine Workman passed away June 27, 2023, at her home in Morton, Washington at the age of 95. She was born February 28, 1928, in Blackey, (Buchanan County) Virginia to Paris and Virgie (Stacy) Justus.

Josephine married Dewey Workman in Montesano, Washington on August 23, 1947. They both enjoyed gardening, canning green beans and shared produce with family and friends.

Josephine had three children, nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dewey Workman, sisters Gennetter Justus and Geneva Workman, brothers James Edward Justus and Thurman Justus, son Vern Workman, and grandson Darryl Cookston.

She is survived by, daughter Leola Cookston, Shelton , WA, son Warren Workman, Shelton, WA, sisters Alkie Zandecki, Silver Creek, WA, Bea Blankenship Columbus, OH, Mary Bradshaw, Mossyrock, WA, and brother Curtis Justus, Kingsport, TN.

Grandsons, Lance Workman, Trant Workman, Caleb Workman, Aaron Workman, Anchorage, AK, Jamie Workman, Shelton, WA, granddaughter Tracey Cookston Shelton, WA, Rayna Tucker Detroit Lakes, MN, Shanon Case Morton, WA.

Josephine was a dedicated member of the Jehovah's Witnesses for more than 60 years. She had many good friends and loved reminiscing with friends and family about the good old days.

A memorial will be held at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Morton, WA on July 8, 2023 at 1:30 p.m.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 29, 2023 at her home in Morton, Washington.
