Dedicated to the citizens of Mason County, Washington since 1886

William Howard Spear

Jesus welcomed William Howard Spear, 83, into his heavenly room on June 21, 2023, fulfilling His promise of preparing a place in His Father's home for those who believe in Him (John 14:1). Howard invested his life in telling others the best Love Story: that sinless Jesus took on Himself our debt of sin, paying with His very lifeblood; He rose from His grave triumphant over death; and He alone can remove our life's sin to bring us back into warm fellowship with His Father.

Howard's pastoral ministry spanned over 60 years, including Village Missions and In Faith Churches in WA, OR, and MN; Family Bible Fellowship; prison ministry; founding of Mason County Christian School (1976); and Bridge Community Church (1996); and telling anyone who would listen about the love of Christ and salvation's grace. He was a graduate of Sterling College and Fuller Seminary, and a lifelong student of the Word of God.

Howard was born in Berryton, Kansas on August 3, 1939, to Maurice and Edna Spear. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris; three children and spouses: Douglas (Mary Lynn), Andrew (Marcy), and Grace Murray (Jerry); twelve grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. He is now reunited with his daughter Donna Pollat (Clayton), deceased.

A memorial service will be held at Shelton First Baptist Church in Shelton at 1:30 p.m. on July 22, 2023.

In memory of Howard, donations are gladly accepted to Religious Freedom Coalition (FEIN 74-2124788), assisting persecuted Christians throughout the world.

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. Psalm 116:15.
