Shelton writer Maddux speaking at library June 16

Shelton writer Carolyn Maddux will talk about writing fiction in a program at 5 p.m. June 16 at the Shelton Timberland Library. Any questions can be directed to Carolyn at 360-426-2268.

Music, markets this summer at Hoodsport church

St. Germain Church at 600 N. Lake Cushman Road (state Route 119) hosts Music on the Hill concerts this summer.

Angel & the Outlaw with Kathy Jonas and Craig Gurney play folk music, with motorcycle poetry from 3 to 5 p.m. June 17. Hank and Claire sing sweet harmonies from 3 to 5 p.m. July 15.

The church also hosts its Market on the Hill from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. the second and fourth Saturdays of the month June through September. Information: 360-877-9879.

Ferguson featured at county Democrats Kennedy dinner

Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson — a candidate for governor — state Treasurer Mike Pellicciotti and Democratic State Party Chair Shasti Conrad are featured speakers at the Mason County Democratic Party’s annual Kennedy dinner and fundraiser Sunday at the Lucky Dog Casino Event Center, 19330 U.S. Highway 101, Shelton.

A no-host social hour begins at 3 p.m., followed by a buffet dinner.
