Island Lake Fire Department and Central Mason Fire & EMS completed their voter-approved merger June 1.
Mason County Fire District 11, known as Island Lake Fire, officially consolidated and merged into Central Mason Fire & EMS on Thursday.
According to a CMFE news release, the merger will help the district to better serve the community. Combining both departments allows CMFE to better manage future training, required training classes, one-on-one training needs and management of training records.
