Free trash disposal for city residents

City of Shelton residents can dispose of household garbage and trash for free between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. May 13 and 20 at the intersection of First and Grove streets, the former Mell’s lot in downtown Shelton.

Dumpers must show identification with home address or a utility bill to prove they live in the city limits. Prohibited items include construction materials, mattresses, box springs, tires, medication, hazardous waste, and such bulky appliances as refrigerators, air conditioners, washers and driers.
