Shelton girls 4x100, 4x200 relay teams earn win

North Mason baseball

The Bulldogs dropped four games last week in Olympic League baseball.

North Mason lost a doubleheader in Port Angeles 10-0 and 11-3 on April 18. The Bulldogs lost 16-0 to North Kitsap in Poulsbo on April 19.

The Bulldogs went back up the Olympic Peninsula on Monday to face Sequim and lost 6-5.

North Mason (1-11, 1-10) hosted Sequim on Wednesday and faces Bainbridge on Friday in Belfair on senior day. The Bulldogs wrap up the regular season on the road in Bainbridge on Monday.

North Mason boys soccer

North Mason boys soccer dropped two Olympic League matches last week.

The Bulldogs lost 7-0 at home against Bainbridge on April 18 and traveled to Port Angeles on Thursday and fell 3-2.

North Mason (3-7, 3-7) traveled to Bremerton on Tuesday and is back on the road in Bremerton today against Olympic in a league contest.

North Mason lost 7-0 to North Kitsap in Belfair in an Olympic League softball game last week.

The Bulldogs (3-5, 2-5) hosted Port Angeles on Tuesday and travel to Bremerton to take on the Knights today. North Mason plays a nonleague game on the road Monday at Quilcene.

North Mason track

North Mason’s Keegan Bonnell earned a win in the triple jump for the Bulldogs at an Olympic League meet at North Kitsap High School in Poulsbo.

Bonnell had a distance of 38 feet, 6 inches. Avery Ballein finished third in the long jump with a leap of 17 feet, 5 inches and Blake Evans was third in the high jump with a height of 5 feet, 2 inches. Dakota Filer placed third in the 200-meter race in 25.33 seconds.

In girls results, Malia Moss finished third with a throw of 66 feet, 2 inches. The 4x100 relay team of Maria Kvello, Cali DuPont, Kisiah Kama-Tandal and Natalya Garcia placed second with a time of 57.24 seconds. The 4x200 relay team of Kvello, DuPont, Kama-Tandal and Garcia finished second again with a time of 2:01.45.

The Bulldogs were back in Poulsbo on Saturday for the Lil’ Norway Invitational. Senior Kezlie Thygesen broke her own school record in the 3,200-meter race with a time of 11:30.79 to finish third. Adrianna Tupolo placed second in the discus with a throw of 103 feet, 2 inches. She also finished fifth in the shot put and javelin.

In boys results, Keegan Bonnell finished sixth in the long jump with a leap of 18 feet, 11 inches. Blake Evans earned seventh in the high jump with a height of 5 feet, 4 inches.

North Mason is back on the track Saturday at the Shelton Invitational.

Andiana Ziegler won the 400-meter race at a league track meet in Ocosta.

Ziegler won the race in 1 minute, 16 seconds. She finished second in the 800-meter race in 3:17.80. Zoie Anderson finished fifth in the 1,600-meter race and the high jump.

In boys results, Logan Green finished third in the 1,600-meter race in 6:52.73 and the triple jump with a distance of 29 feet, 2 inches.

MMK competed in the Chehalis Activators Classic, with Ziegler finishing third in the 1,600-meter race and fourth in the 400-meter race.

MMK is back in action today at a league meet at Elma, and the Owls will be at the Shelton Invitational on Saturday.

Shelton baseball

The Highclimbers earned a split during a home doubleheader April 12 against Rochester in Evergreen Conference baseball.

Shelton won the first game 5-2 but dropped the second game 4-3.

Shelton (9-7, 5-5) hosted Black Hills on Tuesday, traveled to Black Hills on Wednesday and will host Tumwater today in an EvCo game. Shelton wraps up the regular season Friday in Rochester.

Shelton boys soccer

Shelton had a win and a loss last week in Evergreen Conference boys soccer matches.

The Highclimbers fell to Centralia 2-0 on the road on April 18 but bounced back with a 2-1 home victory against Tumwater.

Shelton (3-7, 3-6) traveled to Rochester on Tuesday for an EvCo contest and is on the road against Aberdeen on Friday. The Highclimbers wrap up the regular season May 2 in Shelton against Black Hills.

Shelton softball

Shelton defeated Bremerton 11-1 in a nonleague softball match April 19 in Shelton.

The Highclimbers made it two wins in a row Monday, earning a 4-1 win against Centralia in Shelton.

The Highclimbers (5-9, 2-6) travel to Tumwater today for an EvCo match and are back in Tumwater on Friday to face Black Hills.

Shelton track

The Shelton girls finished second and boys placed third in a four-team Evergreen Conference track meet at Tumwater District Stadium on April 19.

In girls results, Maryjane Hageman won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.29 seconds. Moa Skold won the high jump with a height of 4 feet, 6 inches.

The 4x100 relay team of Shi Hollins, Quin Neal, Delfina Ramirez and Kennadi Ward won with a time of 55.76 seconds. The 4x200 relay of Hollins, Neal, Magdalena Vondrousova and Ward won with a time of 2:01.51.

In boys results, Nathan Gomez won the 200-meter race in 24.18 seconds. Jacob Miller placed second in the 800-meter race with a time of 2:03.18.

The 4x100 relay team of Cameron Huisingh, Gomez, Gavin Nielsen-Ricker and Bradley Eleton won in 46.61 seconds.

Shelton was back on the track in Chehalis on Wednesday and hosts the 63rd Shelton Invitational on Saturday.

Shelton girls tennis

Shelton lost to W.F. West 6-0 in Chehalis on Friday in an Evergreen Conference girls tennis match.

The Highclimbers hosted Centralia on Monday and lost 5-1. Nevaeh Haskins recorded a singles win for Shelton.

Shelton traveled to Tumwater on Wednesday and hosts Aberdeen today in an EvCo match.
