North Mason's Skjonsby signs with Linfield volleyball

North Mason High School's Teegan Skjonsby is taking her volleyball talent to the next level.

Skjonsby signed last week with Linfield University in McMinnville, Oregon, to compete for Wildcat volleyball.

Skjonsby, who was a team captain for the Bulldogs, helped North Mason earn a third-place finish at the Olympic League postseason tournament and a berth in the West Central District III tournament in the fall.

Linfield competes at the NCAA Division III level in the Northwest Conference, which also includes Tacoma-area schools Pacific Lutheran and University of Puget Sound.

According to a release on North Mason's athletics website, Skjonsby said she chose Linfield because she loved the atmosphere within the program, the school's academics and that it's close enough to home to visit, but far enough away to have her independence.

Linfield is coached by Haley Domeck, who completed her third season at the school in the fall.
