Tuesday blaze

A large, intense fire broke out early Tuesday afternoon at a house on South Third Street near the intersection of West Cota Street in downtown Shelton. The cause of the fire was still under investigation as of the Journal's Wednesday afternoon print deadline. Crews from Central Mason Fire & EMS, Island Lake Fire and Fire District 4 battled the blaze, while Shelton Police Department and City of Shelton assisted with securing the scene.
