OC Shelton offers courses
Olympic College Shelton is offering courses in creative writing and forklift certification.
The class “Creative Writing — Making Scenes” is conducted from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays Jan. 25 through Feb. 23. The class explores how to develop scenes through selling, exposition, action, conversation, pacing and clarity.

The class on forklift certification is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 25. Learn to maneuver a forklift through an obstacle course. The instruction includes machine design, product handling, pre-shift inspection and on-site logistics. Review WISHA and OSHA requirements. Certification will be issued upon successful completion.
Gonzaga honors two
Alia Parco and Lana Parco of Belfair earned spots on the dean’s list for the fall semester at Gonzaga University in Spokane.
To be eligible, a student must earn a GPA of 3.5 to 3.84.
Students honored by Spokane colleges
Austin Bowling of Shelton earned a spot on the honor roll for the fall quarter at Spokane Falls Community College. To be eligible, a student must earn a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Callie Wilson of Belfair and Gregory Jenney of Shelton earned spots on the honor roll for the fall quarter at Spokane Community College. To be eligible, students must earn a GPA of 3.0 or better.
Ledgerwood making grade at Knox College
Emma Ledgerwood of Shelton earned a spot on the dean’s list for the fall term at Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois.
To be eligible, a student must earn at least 2.5 credits in the term with a GPA of 3.6 or better.
