Marcus Edward Teeters, of Shelton, passed away at home on October 31, 2022, at the age of 74. He was born on June 6, 1948, in Longview, WA, the eldest child of George Edward and Josephine Ann (Downey) Teeters.
Marc grew up in western Washington, living in cities such as Cathlamet, Chehalis, Raymond, Bellingham, and Edmonds. He was a spirited, fun-loving youth who enjoyed playing baseball and practical jokes. Upon graduating in 1966 from Edmonds High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served in Vietnam as a crew chief and helicopter mechanic until his honorable discharge in 1969. He returned to Olympia where he graduated from The Evergreen State College in 1974 with a Bachelor's in Philosophy. He worked as a cook on large fishing boats in Alaska, and then moved to Seattle and worked as an art teacher at the Seattle Seguin School, where he met Ronna Ault, a fellow teacher. They were married on June 25, 1977, in Edmonds. They moved to East Glacier, Montana, where he worked for the railroad. In 1981, they moved to North Dakota to work as a safety inspector for an oil company during the oil boom. They lived in Dickinson, ND, for nearly 20 years, where they raised their three children. Ronna and Marc moved back to Olympia, WA in 2000.
