Shelton girls soccer

Shelton lost two Evergreen Conference games last week to Black Hills and W.F. West.

The Highclimbers fell 3-0 to Black Hills on Oct. 4 in Shelton and lost 5-0 to W.F. West in Chehalis on Oct. 6.

Shelton (2-8, 1-6) faced Elma in a nonleague game Tuesday at home and hosts Centralia today in an EvCo game.

Shelton volleyball

The HIghclimbers were swept in two Evergreen Conference volleyball matches against Black Hills and W.F. West.

Shelton fell 3-0 to Black Hills in Tumwater on Oct. 4 and the Highclimbers lost to the Bearcats 3-0 at home Oct. 6.

Shelton (2-6, 1-5) traveled to Elma on Tuesday for a nonleague match and hits the road to play the Tigers in Centralia today in an EvCo game.

Shelton cross country

The Shelton boys earned a win in an Evergreen Conference cross country meet in Aberdeen on Oct. 5.

Jacob Miller was the highest finisher for the Highclimbers, taking second place with a time of 17 minutes, 24 seconds. Jaydon Blackburn placed third with a time of 17:31 and Carson Bursch took fourth with a time of 17:39.

Landon Bursch finished eighth with a time of 19:07, Jack Parker placed ninth in 19:15 and Richard Beckman earned 10th with a time of 19:24.

Shelton’s Lily Bennett won the girls race with a time of 21:48. Madison Lohmeyer earned fifth place in 23:39 and Ashley Gooding finished 12th with a time of 28:25.

The Highclimbers traveled to Pacific Lutheran University in Parkland last Saturday to compete in the Fall Classic Invitational.

Shelton’s Miller finished third in the boys race with a time of 16:13. Blackburn took 12th in 16:48 and Carson Bursch finished 17th in 16:56. Landon Bursch finished 61st, Parker took 82nd place and Beckman took 94th place.

In the girls race, Bennett finished 29th with a time of 21:09 and Lohmeyer earned 62nd place.

Shelton competed in a league meet Wednesday in Tumwater and competes in the Evergreen Conference championships Oct. 19 at Pioneer Park in Tumwater.

Shelton boys golf

Shelton earned a close win against Black Hills on Oct. 5 before a big win against Rochester at Riverside Golf Course in Chehalis on Monday.

Shelton defeated Black Hills 222-229. Holmes Waltermire led the Highclimbers against the Wolves with a 40. Wyatt Anthis carded a 42 and Carson Harmon tallied a 44. Austin Covert recorded a 47, Ty Anthis recorded a 49 and Isaac Dorcy rounded out Shelton with a 51.

Black Hills Luke Fenner earned medalist honors with a 37.

Shelton took down Rochester 220-304. Waltermire took medalist honors with a 35. Harmon carded a 40, Covert tallied a 46 and Drocy added a 49. Wyatt Anthis shot a 50 and Bjorn Jacot had a 52.

Rowdy Edminster led the Warriors with a 52.

Shelton was back in action Wednesday against Aberdeen at Grays Harbor Country Club. The Highclimbers host W.F. West at Alderbrook Golf Course on Friday.

North Mason football

The Bulldogs fell to Bainbridge 42-8 on the road in Bainbridge in an Olympic League football game Oct. 7.

North Mason (0-6, 0-4) hosts Sequim on Friday in Belfair.

North Mason girls soccer

North Mason fell in two Olympic League matches to North Kitsap and Sequim last week.

The Bulldogs lost 8-0 against North Kitsap in Belfair on Oct. 4 and traveled to Sequim, where they lost 11-1 on Oct. 6.

North Mason (1-8, 1-7) hosted Bainbridge on Tuesday and hits the road to Port Angeles today for league matches.

North Mason volleyball

The Bulldogs lost to North Kitsap and Sequim in Olympic League matches last week.

North Mason fell 3-0 to North Kitsap on Oct. 4 in Belfair before traveling to Sequim and falling 3-1 on Oct. 6.

Against Sequim, senior middle blocker Desarae Timmons tallied four aces, four kills and two blocks and senior setter Ashlyn Stephens recorded an ace, 14 assists and four digs. Senior outside hitter Teegan Skjonsby totaled five kills, one block and six digs and sophomore middle blocker Adrianna Tupolo added five kills and three blocks.

Against North Kitsap, Timmons had three kills, two blocks and three digs and Skjonsby had six kills and seven digs. Tupolo tallied four kills and two blocks and senior outside hitter Taelor Schooler added six kills and two digs for North Mason.

North Mason (1-7, 1-7) hosted Bainbridge on Tuesday and travels to Port Angeles today in league matches.

North Mason cross country

Kezlie Thygesen finished second for North Mason at an Olympic League cross country meet Oct. 5 in Belfair.

Thygesen finished the race in 20 minutes, 37 seconds. Cali DuPont took seventh place with a time of 22:35. Paige Kelly took 27th place, Sadie Evans finished 41st and Ysaunaa Hernandez finished 49th.

Jackson Bergdahl finished fifth for the Bulldogs in the boys race with a time of 18:03. Charles Broughton took 40th place, Hunber Abad finished 44th and Anders Oldright placed 52nd. Trent Petersen finished 54th and Keegan Bonnell finished 55th.

Thygesen competed Saturday at the Nike Hole in the Wall Invitational at Lakewood High School. She finished 67th with a time of 20:37.

Mary M. Knight football

Mary M. Knight canceled its scheduled game against Northwest Christian on Saturday.

The Owls are scheduled to travel to Vancouver to face the Washington School for the Deaf today in a league game.
