Shelton Girls Soccer

Shelton earned a win against Rochester before a loss to Aberdeen in EvCo girls soccer action last week.

The Highclimbers won 2-1 in Rochester on Sept. 27, but dropped a match 3-0 in Aberdeen on Sept. 29.

Shelton (2-6, 1-4) hosted Black Hills on Tuesday and is on the road in Chehalis today against W.F. West.

Shelton Volleyball

The Highclimber volleyball team earned a win against Aberdeen last week in an Evergreen Conference match.

Shelton fell in a 3-2 match to Rochester at home Sept. 27. The Highclimbers hosted Aberdeen on Sept. 29 and won in a 3-0 sweep.

The Highclimbers (2-4, 1-3) traveled to Tumwater to face Black Hills on Tuesday and hosts W.F. West today in an EvCo match.

Shelton Cross Country

Shelton competed in the 26th John Payne/Curtis XC Invitational on Saturday at Chambers Bay in University Place.

In the boys race, Carson Bursch was the highest finisher for the Highclimbers in 52nd place with a time of 17 minutes, 33 seconds. Jaydon Blackburn took 72nd place with a time of 18:04. Landon Bursch placed 120th, Jack Parker finished 124th, Richard Beckman took 128th and Nathan Gomez was right behind Beckman in 129th place.

In the girls race, Shelton’s Lily Bennett finished 70th with a time of 21:37 and Madison Lohmeyer placed 124th with a time of 23:59.

The Highclimbers traveled to Aberdeen on Wednesday for an Evergreen Conference meet with Aberdeen, Black Hills and Centralia. Shelton will compete in the Fall Classic Invitational at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Shelton Boys Golf

The Shelton boys golf team earned a win in the Sibley Tournament and against W.F. West last week.

Shelton won the Sibley Scramble on Sept. 26 at Alderbrook Golf Course for the first time, which is a two-man, 18-hole scramble tournament and each school could enter three teams of two. Shelton recorded a team score of 140, 11 strokes better than second-place Tumwater.

Carson Harmon and Austin Covert carded a 69 for Shelton and Holmes Waltermire and Wyatt Anthis recorded a 71. Ty Anthis and Charlie Morson tallied an 82.

Centralia’s Von Wasson and Colby Christiansen won medalist honors with a 65.

Shelton traveled to Newaukaum Valley Golf Course to face W.F. West on Sept. 28 and won by one stroke, 227-228. Carson Harmon led the Highclimbers and earned medalist honors with a 39. Waltermire and Wyatt Anthis each carded a 42 and Austin Covert tallied a 51. Isaac Dorcy and Ty Anthis each shot a 53.

The Highclimbers hit the road Sept. 30 to face Tumwater and fell, 187-220. Waltermire led Shelton with a 38 and Harmon carded a 42. Wyatt Anthis had a 44, Covert

carded a 47 and Dorcy added a 49. Ty Anthis rounded out Shelton with a 53.

Tumwater’s Braeden Conrad and Nolan Campbell tied for medalist honors with a 36.

Shelton hosted Centralia at Alderbrook on Monday and was back at Tumwater Valley on Wednesday to take on Black Hills.

North Mason Football

The Bulldogs fell 47-7 on the road against Bremerton on Sept. 30 in an Olympic League football game.

North Mason (0-5, 0-3) travels to Bainbridge on Friday for an Olympic League game.

North Mason Girls Soccer

North Mason earned its first win of the season against Kingston last week in Olympic League match.

The Bulldogs won 3-0 in Kingston on Sept. 29. North Mason fell to Olympic at home 2-0 on Sept. 27.

North Mason (1-6, 1-5) hosted North Kitsap on Tuesday and travels to Sequim today for an Olympic League contest.

North Mason Volleyball

The Bulldogs dropped volleyball matches to Olympic and Kingston last week in Olympic League action.

North Mason fell to Olympic 3-0 at home on Sept. 27.

The Bulldogs lost a 3-0 match on the road against Kingston on Sept. 29. Bulldog senior Desarae Timmons recorded five kills and one block and sophomore Adrianna Tupolo added three kills and one block.

North Mason (1-5, 1-5) hosted North Kitsap on Tuesday and travels to Sequim on Thursday.

North Mason Cross Country

North Mason’s Kezlie Thygesen finished 11th at the Nike Twilight XC Invitational at Cedarcrest Golf Course in Marysville.

Thygesen finished 11 with a time of 19 minutes, 42 seconds. Cali DuPont placed 76th with a time of 22:33 and Paige Kelly rounded out the Bulldogs in 132nd place.

Jackson Bergdahl was the only North Mason runner to compete, placing 69th with a time of 17:56.

North Mason competed Wednesday in an Olympic League meet at home in Belfair.

Mary M. Knight Football

The Mary M. Knight football team traveled to Clallam Bay on Sept. 30 and fell 64-6.

The Owls (0-4) hosts Northwest Christian at 1 p.m. Saturday in Matlock.
