Dedicated to the citizens of Mason County, Washington since 1886
It is with tears of sorrow and heavy hearts that we have to make the announcement that Richard Ernest Calvin passed away April 25, 2022, in Shelton, WA at the age of 59.
He was an amazing man, husband, son, brother, uncle, grandpa, godfather, friend, veteran, chef, artist, musician, entertainer, craftsman, pirate, and so much more. He is preceded in death by his father John Calvin, survived by his mother Susan Calvin, wife Angie Huston-Calvin, brother Kris Calvin (Ardi) and niece Arianna, sister Michelle Calvin, brother John Calvin, sister Kim Williams, nephew Jack Albrecht, grandchildren Rachel and Levi, goddaughter Kaitlynn, and many more family members and countless friends.
The Harstine Island Community Club and Hall held a very special place in his heart as he got married there this past September. He was very involved in the club working with the historian to take over the role of Island Historian at the end of this year. He was spearheading a historical restoration project for the two beautiful 100-year-old canvases that hang in the hall. Any memorial donations can be made to the following address to help make his last project complete.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Rick at the Harstine Island Community Hall at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 30th, 2022.
