Tickets on sale for annual Love INC golf tourney

Tickets are on sale for the 11th annual Love INC Charity Golf Tournament, which will be hosted July 18 at the Alderbrook Golf and Yacht Club in Union.

Teams of up to four golfers can register for $175.

The event is the largest fundraiser for Shelton-based Love INC (In the Name of Christ), whose 25 partner churches provide people in need with clothing, blankets, backpacks for kids, diapers, medical equipment and financial help. Republican Women hosts candidates’ forum

Mason County Republican Women host the “Candidates in the Park” forum from 1 to 3 p.m. July 9 at Kneeland Park in Shelton.

The speakers include candidates for U.S. Congress, the state House of Representatives, the Mason County Commission, the Mason County PUD 3 Commission, and Mason County sheriff, prosecuting attorney, clerk, auditor and assessor. State Rep. Dan Griffey, R-Allyn, and State Rep. Drew MacEwen, R-Union, who is running for the state Senate, will be the masters of ceremonies.

Skookum Rotary stages Music in the Park

The Shelton Skookum Rotary Club stages its annual Music in the Park series from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays at Kneeland Park in Shelton.

The lineup is Marty Beagle and the Oyster Club July 7; the Fleetwood Mac tribute group Big Love Band July 14; Runaway Train July 21; The Lady Drinks Whiskey July 28; Hurts Like Hell Aug. 4; and Randy Linder’s father-and-son group Aug. 11.

Admission is free.
