Shelton Baseball

The Highclimber boys split a pair of games against Tumwater last week in EvCo action.

Shelton defeated Tumwater 5-1 on March 29 at home. The Highclimbers traveled to Tumwater March 30 and fell 4-0.

Shelton (5-3, 1-3) faced Olympic on Tuesday in a nonleague game. The Highclimbers hit the road to take on Rochester today before returning home Friday to play the Warriors again.

Track

The Shelton girls had several winners in an Evergreen Conference track meet with Tumwater, Rochester and Centralia on March 29 in Shelton.

Shelton’s Kennadi Ward won the 100-meter dash with a time of 14.25 seconds. Tatum Dickey won the 800-meter race with a time of 2:34.54 and Alauna Carstens won the 1,600-meter race with a time of 5:13.35. Mary Jane Hageman won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 55.82 and was second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.62 seconds. Quin Neal and Maddie Allred won the high jump with a leap of 4 feet, 2 inches.

The 4x100 relay team of Delfina Ramirez, Tatum Dickey, Annalise Barkman and Ward won with a time of 55.89. The 4x400 relay team of Ali Clifton, Carstens, Lily Bennett and Faith Linthicum won with a time of 4:34.33.

In boys action, Jaron Sartori won the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 10 inches, and finished second in the long jump with a distance of 19 feet, 1.5 inches and the triple jump with a leap of 37 feet, 11.25 inches.

Carson Bursch placed second in the 800-meter dash with a time of 2:18.98. Jacob Miller finished second in the 1,600-meter race with a time of 4:51.95. Mario Boxley took second in the discus with a throw of 107 feet, 6 inches and second in the javelin with a toss of 127 feet, 6 inches.

The Highclimbers host a dual meet with Centralia on April 14.

Girls golf

Shelton lost two games against Evergreen Conference opponents at Alderbrook Golf Course last week.

The Highclimbers faced Tumwater March 28 and lost 93-45 in a modified stableford scoring format. Shelton’s Kaia Johnson led the way with 17 points. Taylia Budge tallied 13 points, Alena Hall scored 11 points and Gabrielle Stevens chipped in four points.

On March 29, Shelton hosted W.F. West and fell 96-41. Johnson was the leader for Shelton again with 21 points. Budge recorded 18 points and Stevens tallied two points.

Shelton is back in action April 13 against Black Hills at Alderbrook Golf Course.

Boys soccer

Shelton soccer came close to winning its first game of the season but fell 3-2 against Centralia in an Evergreen Conference soccer game at home April 1.

Shelton (0-4, 0-4) travels to Rochester on Friday for another EvCo contest.

Softball

Shelton split a pair of games against Evergreen Conference opponents last week.

The Highclimbers defeated Black Hills 4-3 at home March 30 on a Sarah Jacoby walk-off sacrifice RBI. Shelton traveled to Aberdeen on April 1 and lost 9-1.

Shelton (3-6, 2-4) is off for spring break and resumes play April 13 on the road against Tumwater.

North Mason Boys soccer

The Bulldogs earned its first win of the season last week against Olympic.

North Mason won 4-2 at home on March 29 but lost at home 7-2 against Kingston in Olympic League games.

North Mason (1-5, 1-5) hosts Bear Creek School on Friday in the Bulldogs’ first nonleague game of the season.

Softball

North Mason softball won two games last week to push its win streak to three games in Olympic League contests.

The Bulldogs took down Bremerton 14-3 on the road March 29 and returned home March 31 and defeated Sequim 6-4.

North Mason (5-2, 3-1) is off for spring break until April 12 at home against Olympic.

Baseball

The Bulldogs extended its losing streak to four games after losing three games last week.

North Mason fell 11-0 at home March 29 and hit the road against Bainbridge on March 31 and lost 16-0 in Olympic League games. The Bulldogs traveled to Tumwater to take on Black Hills in a nonleague game April 2 and lost 6-2.

The Bulldogs (2-6, 1-4) are off until April 12 at home against North Kitsap.

Girls golf

North Mason fell 264-231 against Olympic in an Olympic League girls golf match at Rolling Hills Golf Course in Bremerton.

The Bulldogs are back on the course April 14 against North Kitsap at Port Ludlow Golf Course.

Mary M. Knight Track

Drake Jenkins and Dakota Diggle competed at a league track meet at Ocosta High Schol in Westport on March 31.

Jenkins finished 22nd in the 100-meter dash with a time of 14.49 seconds, placed 17th in the shot put with a throw of 25 feet, 5 inches and earned 27th in the discus with a toss of 40 feet, 4 inches.

Diggle placed 26th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 15.82 and earned 22nd in the shot put with a throw of 24 feet, 11 inches..

The Owls are back in action April 13 in a league meet at Eatonville.
