Shelton Baseball

The Highclimbers lost its first two games of the season before bouncing back with a nonleague win.

Shelton lost to W.F. West 7-3 at home March 22 and fell to the Bearcats 7-1 in Chehalis on March 24. The Highclimbers bounced back with a 19-14 win against Timberline at home March 25.

Shelton (4-2, 0-2) played against Tumwater at home Tuesday and in Tumwater on Wednesday.

Softball

Shelton earned an Evergreen Conference win against Centralia and a nonleague loss at home last week.

The Highclimbers defeated Centralia 11-9 in Shelton on March 23. Shelton faced Olympic at home March 25 and fell 8-5 before losing an EvCo game to W.F. West 11-1 in Chehalis on Monday.

Shelton (2-5, 1-3) hosted Black Hills on Wednesday and traveled to Aberdeen on Friday for EvCo games.

Track

The Shelton boys team defeated Centralia and the girls team defeated Aberdeen and Centralia at an Evergreen Conference track meet at Tiger Stadium in Centralia on March 22.

In girls results, Ali Clifton won the 800-meter race with a time of 2 minutes, 37 seconds and won the 1,600-meter race with a time of 5:45.18. Mary Jane Hagerman won the 100-meter hurdles in 18.73 seconds and the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 55.88.

Taylin VanDyke won the shot put with a throw of 27 feet, 10 inches. Quin Neal won the high jump with a leap of 4 feet, 2 inches.

In boys action, Kaden Pearson won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.59 seconds and the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.77. Jacob Miller won the 1,600-meter dash with a time of 4:41.17. Mario Boxley won the javelin with a toss of 134 feet, 6.5 inches.

The 4x100 relay of Cameron Huisingh, Nathan Gomez, Bradley Eleton and Pearson won with a time of 46.14 seconds. The 4x400 relay team of Gabriel Menefee, Gomez, Landon Bursch and Pearson won with a time of 3:42.88.

Shelton hosted Tumwater, Rochester and Centralia on Tuesday in an Evergreen Conference meet.

Boys soccer

Shelton lost 2-1 to Black Hills on March 22 in an Evergreen Conference boys soccer game. The Highclimbers dropped another EvCo match against Aberdeen 5-0 on Monday.

The Highclimbers (0-3, 0-3) host Centralia on Friday.

North Mason Boys soccer

North Mason dropped back-to-back Olympic League games last week.

The Bulldogs lost 4-2 on the road March 22 against Port Angeles before falling to Bremerton 3-1 at home on March 24.

North Mason (0-4, 0-4) hosted Olympic on Tuesday and hosts Kingston today in Olympic League matches.

Baseball

The Bulldogs earned its first Olympic League win of the season sandwiched between two league losses last week.

North Mason lost to Bremerton 20-1 on March 22 on the road. The Bulldogs returned home and received a complete game shutout on the mound from freshman Boston Stanley in a 1-0 win against Sequim. Kingston came to Belfair on March 26 and won 17-4.

North Mason (2-3. 1-2) hosted Olympic on Tuesday, travels to Bainbridge today and hits the road to take on Black Hills in Tumwater on Saturday.

Track

The North Mason girls finished seventh and the boys placed ninth at the Bedlington Twilight track meet in Lynden on March 25.

In girls action, North Mason’s Tanza Tupolo won the shot put with a toss of 36 feet, 9.75 inches and she also finished second in the discus with a toss of 90 feet, 3 inches. Kezlie Thygesen placed second in the 3,200-meter race with a time of 12:27.75. Addilyn Varick finished second in the javelin with a throw of 101 feet, 10 inches.

In boys action, Trevon Simons finished fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.95 seconds and fourth in the long jump with a leap of 19 feet, 2.5 inches. Jackson Bergdahl finished fifth in the 3,200-meter race with a time of 11:16.64.

Softball

The Bulldogs were in the win and loss column in Olympic League games last week.

North Mason lost to Port Angeles 12-5 at home on March 24 before bouncing back with an 8-7 win at home against Kingston on March 25.

North Mason (3-2, 1-1) traveled to Bremerton on Tuesday and hosts Sequim on Thursday.

Girls tennis

The North Mason girls tennis team fell to Sequim 7-0 on the road on March 22. North Mason faced North Kitsap at home on Wednesday and travels to Kingston today before hosting Kingston on Friday in Olympic League matches.

Track

The Knight Owls’ Danny Goeders finished third in the 400-meter dash at a league track meet in South Bend on March 24.

Goeders finished the race in 58.57 seconds. He also placed fifth in the javelin with a throw of 109 feet, 4 inches. Drake Jenkins took seventh in the discus with a toss of 83 feet, 7 inches.

The Owls travel to Westport today for a league meet at Ocosta High School.
