Gerald "Jerry" L. Nelson

Jerry Nelson passed away peacefully on January 7, 2022, at the age of 93 at St. Anne Hospital in Burien, Washington. Jerry was born to Harold and Olive (Seaburg) Nelson in Seattle in 1928.

The family eventually moved to Olympia where he graduated from Olympia High School in 1947. Jerry moved to Seattle to work for a hardware store and then transferred to Alaska for the same company. He was a member of the National Guard for three years, and in 1950 he returned to Olympia and enlisted in the United States Air Force and spent two years serving in Korea. After Korea, he was stationed in Wichita, Kansas to complete his service. While in Kansas, he had a job driving customers up and down a lake, and that's where he met the love of his life, Mary Jo Norris. Jerry and Mary Jo married in 1955, and they eventually moved to Seattle where Jerry went to work for the Boeing Co. He worked there for 33 years. After retirement, they moved to Mason Lake where he enjoyed boating, fishing and traveling in their motor home with their great community of friends. Jerry brought the love of the outdoors and the water to his two children.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 66 years, Mary Jo; sons, Douglas (Mary), Eric (Kim); and granddaughters, Mallory (Dan) and Courtney.

Jerry will always be in our hearts and remembered for his jokes, stories and warm heart. There will be no service at this time.
