Shelton High School senior Ryan Mackiewicz grapples with W.F. West High School's Waylen Land in the 170-pound title bout of the Evergreen League subregional boys wrestling tournament on Saturday at the Mini-Dome in Shelton. Mackiewicz won a 13-1 major decision and is one of nine Highclimbers to advance to Saturday's Region 3 championship at Washougal High School.
Led by senior Ryan Mackiewicz's commanding win in the 170-pound final, the Shelton High School boys wrestling team finished third overall at the Evergreen League subregional wrestling tournament on Saturday at the Mini-Dome in Shelton.
W.F West won the team title with 386 points. Aberdeen was second with 208.5 and Shelton tallied 174.5.
In all, nine Shelton wrestlers qualified for this week's Region 3 championship meet Saturday at Washougal High School.
