Cedar Heights High School juniors Adriana Rosales and Alexia Perrott offer free hygiene products at its Pandemic Recovery Fair on Nov. 3 in the Shelton High School Mini Dome. The Cedar students, who attend classes on the Olympic College Shelton campus, researched how the pandemic is affecting people, and organized the event, invited nonprofits and other groups to participate and solicited items to distribute. The Alderwood Resort donated $500 to purchase items to distribute.
In a news release, the district said it is hiring regular substitute teachers for $175 a day, emergency substitute teachers for $140 a day, para educators for up to $21.59 an hour, substitute para educators for $13.69 an hour, and a starting wage of $21.73 for bus drivers. Applications are available on the district's website at www.sheltonschools.org/departments/human_resources/employment.
