Marty Best was sworn in as the newest member of the Shelton School Board at its Sept. 14 meeting.

“Congratulations Marty, we’re pleased to have you on the board,” said School Board President Sally Karr.

Best, a Shelton resident who works as the administrative services manager for Grays Harbor Transit, will represent district Position 2 on the five-member board. He replaces Lynn Eaton, who resigned in June after moving out of her director district.

Best is the only name on the ballot for the position in the Nov. 2 general election.
