Larry Parker was born on April 8, 1948 to Everett Parker and Margy Jean Shurr in Royal Oak, Michigan. He was raised with his brother, Roy "Butch". Larry passed away on March 18th, 2024.
Larry went to Adrian College, Michigan where he met his wife, Holly Cassell. They moved to Fair Play, Colorado, and then to Denver, where they had a daughter, Fay. Larry went on to graduate from the University of Colorado at Denver with a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering. Larry also became a part time professor of Surveying at UC of D for many years alongside his career as a Civil Engineer.
After retiring from Civil Engineering, Larry moved to Washington State to be closer to his daughter and grandchildren, Alysa, Michelle, Nicholas and Holly. He devoted his free time tutoring students in mathematics and assisting with GED preparation at South Sound Learning and Choice High School in Shelton, WA. Larry enjoyed golfing and playing softball as well as being an avid sports fan.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Margy Jean, and his Stepmother Norma. Larry is survived by his daughter Fay, her husband Don Whitener of Shelton, WA and their children Alysa, Michelle, Nicholas and Holly. He is also survived by his former spouse Holly Sharpe of Olympia, WA and his brother Butch (Sandra) Gay of Clarkston, MI and family, and the family of his Stepmother Norma. A private memorial service is planned for family.
