Truss Show and Plant Sale May 13-14

The Shelton Rhododendron Society hosts its annual Truss Show and Plant Sale May 13 and 14 at Outdoors by Design, 221 state Route 3, Shelton. Information: [email protected].

Grant School hosts plant, art, bake sale

The Pickering Community Club hosts its annual Plant, Art & Bake Sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 13 at the Grant School, 151 E. Community Club Road.

Annuals, perennials, vegetable starts, succulents, ornamentals and native plants are on sale. Artists will sell their works. Desserts will be on sale.

Proceeds will benefit the Grant School, a former one-room schoolhouse and current community gathering venue of East Pickering Road. Information: http://www.thegrantschool.org.

Giant sale at Kitten Rescue in Shelton

Kitten Rescue of Mason hosts its quarterly garage sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 13 at 420 S.E. state Route 3 in Shelton.

Kitten Rescue is a nonprofit organization that doesn't receive public funding.

United Way spring dessert May 12

United Way of Mason County hosts a spring dessert auction from noon to 2 p.m. May 12 at the Shelton Civic Center.

Tickets are $15. Lunch will be served. All proceeds support the group's programs to help residents in need.

Community Market May 13 in Union

The Hood Canal Improvement Club hosts the Community Market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 13 at the New Community Church of Union, 951 E. Dalby Road, Union. Lunch is available. Local arts and crafts will be on sale inside the church, and outside, repurpose, reuse and resale items.

'Pirates of Penzance' opens May 13

Connection Street Theatre stages the Gilbert and Sullivan operetta "The Pirates of Penzance" at 7 p.m. May 13 and 20, and 2 p.m. May 14 and 21 at the Faith Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 1212 Connection St., Shelton.

Tickets are $5, and are sold at the door, which opens 30 minutes before each performance. Information: http://www.faithshelton.org.

Spring plant sale May 20 on Harstine Island

The Harstine Island Garden Club hosts a plant sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 20 at the Harstine Island Community Hall, 3371 E. Harstine Island Road N.
