Shelton baseball

The Shelton baseball team earned its first win of the season against Port Angeles 5-2 on Saturday in a nonleague game on the road.

Shelton (1-1) began Evergreen Conference games this week, traveling to Tumwater on Tuesday before hosting the Thunderbirds on Wednesday. The Highclimbers host Aloha, Oregon, at 2 p.m. Friday in a nonleague game.

Shelton was scheduled to face Rochester at Alderbrook Golf Course on Monday, but no results were posted in time for the Journal’s print deadline.

The Highclimbers are scheduled to take on Montesano today in a nonleague golf match at Alderbrook. Shelton will travel to Newaukum Valley Golf Course in Chehalis to take on W.F. West on Monday.

Shelton boys soccer

The Highclimbers opened the season with two losses against W.F. West and Bremerton last week, but bounced back with their first win of the season against Centralia.

Shelton lost 6-0 on the road against W.F. West on March 14 in an Evergreen Conference game to open the season. The Highclimbers traveled to Bremerton last Friday and lost 4-1 in a nonleague contest.

Shelton earned its first win of the season in the home opener against Centralia on Monday. The Highclimbers scored in the 77th minute to earn a 4-3 victory.

Shelton (1-2, 1-1) traveled to Tumwater on Wednesday for a league game and hosts Rochester on Saturday night.

Shelton softball

Shelton earned a nonleague win against Sequim before losses to Elma and Hoquiam in nonleague games.

The Highclimbers won 9-6 against Sequim on March 15. Shelton hosted Elma on Friday and lost 9-5, and then lost 1-0 to Hoquiam in a game that was moved to Shelton due to weather.

Shelton (1-4) played its first Evergreen Conference game of the season against Centralia on the road Wednesday. The Highclimbers host Tumwater on Friday and hit the road to face Rochester on Monday.

North Mason baseball

North Mason earned its first win of the season against Kingston last week in an Olympic League game.

The Bulldogs won 5-2 against Kingston on Thursday in Belfair. Coupeville came to Belfair on Saturday and defeated North Mason 8-3 in a nonleague game.

North Mason (1-2, 1-1) traveled to Bremerton on Tuesday and hosts Bremerton today in an Olympic League game.

North Mason girls golf

The Bulldogs opened the season with a win and a loss last week in Olympic League girls golf action.

North Mason defeated Kingston 238-283 on March 14 at LakeLand Village. The Bulldogs traveled to Peninsula Golf Course in Port Angeles on Thursday and lost to the Roughriders 237-254.

North Mason hosted Bremerton at LakeLand Village on Tuesday and travels to Whitehorse Golf Course to take on Kingston today.

North Mason lost its opening two matches of the season against Kingston and Port Angeles.

The Bulldogs lost 242-165 to Kingston at LakeLand Village on March 14 before falling at Peninsula Golf Course in Port Angeles 263-172 against the Roughriders.

North Mason hosted Bremerton at LakeLand Village on Tuesday and travels to Whitehorse Golf Course to play against Kingston today.

North Mason opened the season with a win and a loss last week in Olympic League games.

The Bulldogs defeated Sequim 1-0 in the season opener against Sequim in Belfair. North Mason traveled to Bainbridge last Thursday and fell 3-0.

Noth Mason (1-1, 1-1) hosted Port Angeles on Tuesday and hosts Bremerton today in Olympic League matches.

North Mason girls tennis

North Mason began the season with two losses in Olympic League matches last week.

The Bulldogs lost to Port Angeles in the home opener 7-0 on March 15. North Mason traveled to Bremerton on Friday and lost 5-2.

North Mason (0-2, 0-2) traveled to Sequim on Tuesday for a league match and hosts Olympic on Thursday for an Olympic league contest.

Mary M. Knight track

Mary M. Knight’s Lexi Stamper won the shot put at a league track and field meet in Hoquiam on Thursday to open the season.

Stamper won the event with a throw of 31 feet, 5 inches. Stamper finished fourth in the discus and 11th in the javelin. Zoie Anderson placed 13th in the javelin, 15th in the shot put, 16th in the discus and 18th in the 100-meter dash.

In boys results, Logan Green placed second in the triple jump for the Owls with a distance of 30 feet, 5 inches. Green placed seventh in the long jump. Ben Camacho-Vizena finished 12th in the discus and 20th in the shot put.

Mary M. Knight is back in action today at a league meet in Eatonville.
