A comical look at impending doom

Shelton High School's theater, drama club and entertainment production students stage two one-act plays "10 Ways to Survive: The End of the World" and "The Zombie Apocalypse" at 6:30 p.m. Friday, and 2:30 and 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the school's Performing Arts Center.

Admission is free, with donations accepted to support the performing arts program. Doors open a half-hour before each show.

Don Zolidis wrote both short comedies. The show takes an absurd look at the fears of impending doom. Patrons of all ages are welcome, but parents and guardians should know cartoonish violence and death is staged.

Wendy Burr, the school's Drama Club adviser, is the show's artistic and stage director. Phoenix Miller, a 2022 Shelton High School graduate, is the assistant director.

Joey Seward is the technical director, Leon Reynolds the assistant technical director and costume designer, Alexandra Ramirez Villa the stage manager, Joe McCray the assistant stage manager and Bee Devine the makeup designer. Reynolds, Sio Nuxoll and Oakley Poland are the lead designers. Poland also manages the props.

The entertainment production class students designed and constructed the sets. Eliott and Louie Mobley choreographed the fights. Hailey Tinsley designed the lighting, McKenna Malloy produced the video, and the sound engineers are Arianna Patterson, Hannah Pratt and Malakai Matthew.

The cast features Tillie Maier, Becca Byykkonen, EmmaRae Siemssen, Madeline Allred, Liam Lawin, Eliott Mobley, Oakley Poland, Tatiana Reed, Sophia Nakhla, Claire Godwin, Leon Reynolds, Sio Nuxoll, Bee Devine, Jackson Parker, Madeleine Smith, Louie Mobley and Madilyne Nelsen.
